The New York Times and me too, Baby!!!!

The Girlie Show (that I was chosen to be an artist in) was given a nod in the New York Times!!! I am soooo excited. Couldn't be more awesome.

I want to be a real "Girlie" someday!!!

Ok, here it is. My wish to be part of the hippest, most awesome, all female artist show. There is just one thing, it is juried. Cross your fingers and toes for me!!! Check it out.

What a hip, creative and artistic husband and wife team! Micheal Bracco and his wife Shawna are a virtual powerhouse together on their website Spaghettikiss.com. He is the writer/illustrator of many famed comics such as, Novo and Birth. If you love comics or just want a good read -check him out. His illustrations are eerily unique and wonderfully detailed. They also sell his edgy graphics on t-shirts. A perfect Fathers Day gift for the modern, hip dad!

  

Shawna is the creator of PinkKiss Pottery. I adore her work! I picked this hand thrown mug below not only because it is shaped like me : )  but I also love the ladder design and the pretty pink inside. It showcases what makes her designs so fresh, original and interesting.

Shawna states "There is nothing more satisfying then drinking from a cup that was made by human hands." Buy one of her delicious mugs and you will see.

Carefully constructed from mixed media, OpusEmporium creates each one of these beautiful Art Blocks by hand. I adore all of the texture in the raised flowers. The detail in her work is delicate and stunning. Her talent is unquestionable.

I can only hope that one day my son will buy one for me that says "For my best friend",,,,, just thinking about it makes me teary!

Crazy enough I found out about this fabulously creative man after I (unsuccessfully) tried my hand at the current Stylemob contest. I read his profile and saw that he had a fantastic and interesting blog called KnitXcorE.  After reading a bit about his penchant for baking and knitting I was smitten! To add to my adoration I found out he had a Flickr account chock full of his wonderful photographs! If only I could take him out for coffee in hopes to snag a tiny bit of his coolness. This super creative guy rocks!
